The International Amnesty (IA) analyzes, in this report, the legal support of the economic, social and cultural rights in Spain, as well as the obstacles to enforce them in the Judiciary. It also examines the lack of recognition of these rights as human rights in different scopes, from the legislation to the authorities’ decisions; and how this affects the population. The lack of protection of the ESCR makes a part of the population even more vulnerable and reduces too much their possibility to defend themselves from this situation.
The report, then, offers concrete experiences of people that were defenseless regarding the ESCR guarantees deficit, with special attention to the rights to adequate housing and health.
