In February 2-4th , Raquel Rolnik will participate in the international conference “Improving Access to Housing for Roma: Good Local Practices, Funding and Legislation”, in Prague, Czech Republic.
The event is organized by the Decade of Roma Inclusion, an international initiative that brings together european governments and nongovernmental organizations, as well as Romani civil society, to accelerate progress toward improving the welfare of Roma. This network is presently under the presidency of the Czech Republic government.
The main goal of the conference is to present local and international contexts of improvement of Roma access to housing and to identify key
measures which should be taken by the Decade governments in this area.
One of the objectives of the Czech Decade Presidency is to motivate regional and municipal government bodies in the Decade countries to implement integration policies and to find appropriate forms of cooperation between central and local governments.
