Over a hundred people have registered in the Rapporteur’s platform of debates

UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing

The discussions on “Women and Housing Rights” are already taking place in the virtual platform launched last month by the Special Rapporteur. To participate, you should enter the website www.righttohousingdebates.org, sign up and, then, connect. More than 100 people worldwide have already registered.

“Women and Housing Rights” is the theme of the next thematic report of the Rapporteur, who is seeking to produce it in a different way, by opening an e-debate worldwide on the subject. The discussions will also serve as inputs to the dissemination materials (a guide and a leaflet on the theme ) to be also produced by the Rapporteur.

The discussions are organized by language (English, Spanish and Portuguese) and region (North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, South Asia and the Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa). For each region there is a focal point in charge of organizing the debates.

The focal points propose topics for discussion and the participants can comment on each topic, share links, documents, videos and images related to each subject, agree with the comments of other participants and also propose recommendations. If contradictory proposals are presented for the same subject, ia voting process can be proposed.

If you are interested in discussing “Women and Housing Rights”, join us and share your knowledge and experience. Send us examples of policies, legislation and other measures taken to increase the access of women to housing. You can also comment the existing obstacles in its implementation.
