Communications report already available in our website – Newsletter #25

In September, all the communications sent by Special Rapporteurs to countries during the last months were publicized and presented to the UN Human Rights Council. The document is already available on our website. In October, on the 29th, Rapporteur Raquel Rolnik will present to the UN General Assembly her report on housing finance and its impact on the right to adequate housing . The report will be presented and discussed publicly at the City University of New York (CUNY) on October 26th.

* Communications report
Communications sent by Special Rapporteurs from March, 16 to May, 31 and the replies received from governments from May, 16 to July, 31 compose the communications report presented to the Human Rights Council. To read the document, click here.

* Housing finance
In October, Rapporteur Raquel Rolnik will present her report on housing finance and its impact on the right to adequate housing to the UN General Assembly, on the 29th, and will also take part in a debate on the theme at the CUNY, on the 26th, during an event promoted jointly by academics, activists and members of movements and organizations from civil society. * World Urban Forum and Urban Social Forum
From the 1st to the 6th of September, the city of Naples, Italy, held the World Urban Forum and the Urban Social Forum. At the occasion, the Rapporteur participated in dialogues, debates, round tables and workshops, visited two communities in the region of Naples and held a public consultation on security of tenure. Learn more.
