UN Human Rights Council resolution on adequate housing on the context of post disaster settings
The UN Human Rights Council adopted on March 21st, 2012, during its 19th regular session, a resolution regarding adequate housing in the context of post disaster settings. Among the many issues comprised in the text, the importance of the participation of the affected people in the elaboration and execution of housing assistance was stressed. The resolution also encourages the states to include the right to adequate housing as a key component in the planning and implementation of disaster responses, and to prioritize the most vulnerable people in the realization of this right with a gender perspective.
The complete resolution may be found here (only in English).
