Middle East/North Africa Land Forum IV

The Habitat International Coalition’s Housing and Land Rights Network announces the convening of the fourth Land Forum in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region. Every edition of the Land Forum series brings together activists, scholars, NGOs and community leaders to explore cases, present land struggles and exchange experiences that set the research and advocacy agenda for the MENA region. This year’s Land Forum will take place alongside the events of the World Social Forum, in Tunis, Tunisia, during the week of 24 March 2013.

Housing is a right! Protest and solidarity with the Spanish being evicted

MAB holds first meeting in Paraná state, Brazil

The Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB) will organise, between March 13th and 15th, the first State Meeting of Populations Affected by Dams in the state of Paraná. The event will take place in the Parish Hall of St. Francis of Assisi and provides the participation of 350 militants and partners.

Towards the World Assembly of Inhabitants and beyond

From the 26th to the 30th of March, as part of the World Social Forum, the city of Tunis will host the next World Assembly of Inhabitants (WAI), supported by international networks and inhabitants organisations. Everyone is invited to take part in this key stage in the process!

Make the voices of Africa’s inhabitants heard

From 4 to 8 December the IAI will make the voices of Africa’s urban inhabitants heard at Dakar by hosting and participating in a series of events, including the Sixth Africities Summit (no registration charge for anyone to attend the Thematic Session on Associations of Inhabitants) and meetings with local residents organisations in the neighbourhoods. In this way the network is building upon relationships and convergences developed at the last World Assembly of Inhabitants (WAI, WSF Dakar 2011) and encouraging participation in the next WAI which will take place in Tunis (WSF, March 2013).
